Revive Your Old Blog Posts to Keep Quality Content in the Spotlight

Creating a page that highlights a variety of posts can help your visitors see posts that might have otherwise been buried. This page would be specifically for highlighting posts that exist in the archives.
3 Benefits:
~ It will help your site in the search engines. The search engines not only count incoming links toward your ranking, but internal links are also counted.
~ Helps your blog’s stickiness. If a surfer sees 10-15 of your great posts rather than the most recent one they are likely to see you have a lot of good things to say. They will be more likely to bookmark your site and come back to read regularly.
~ It lengthens the life of your posts. You spent a long time writing your blog posts so why allow them to become buried after a week or two.
There are several different ways you can create this type of page. I will go over three of them. If you have a different way of doing it then let us know!
Themed
This page will contain links to archive posts that revolve around a singular theme. You can have one or several of these. Add a few pictures to make the page more interesting. Add links to your Themed pages from your sidebar.
Time Related
A time related page would highlight posts from a specified period of time. For example, ‘Best of 2008′. Include 10-15 posts from 2008. Rinse. Repeat for each year your blog has been active.
A simple way to do this could be a blog post that simply links 10 posts from 2008. You don’t have to go outside your blogging platform and use html to do this! It’s that easy.
Series
This can be done by finding a single topic and including all the posts from a particular period of time. Be sure to have links on each post to the next post in the series. This will help the surfer more easily navigate the series and increase the likelihood they will finish reading all the posts.
This will only be effective if you make sure the surfer can find it. This can easily be done by putting a link to it/them in your navigation menu or other highly visible location on your blog. The more people that see it the more that visit your archives.
