Hi there and welcome!
So, are you lost yet? Drowning in the sea of information on the net about how to make money online? I know I was, 12 years ago mind you, and there wasn't even 1% of the info out there in 1996 that there is today!
Well, let me try to help. First off, take a deep breath. Yes, this is a learning curve, yes, it's a lot of work and yes, it will take time to learn (actually, you never stop learning). BUT, it's not impossible and you CAN do this, I promises.
Here's a map to help you get started:
1) Go read the Newbie Q&A - you really need to be familiar with a lot of these terms in order to get anywhere because we all use them a lot. So, read over it, print it out, bookmark it, whatever you need to. If you come upon a term that isn't answered there, refer to the Webmaster Glossary - it has dern near everything but the kitchen sink!
2) Look at the top of these screen. See that grey bar that has "Home, Newbies Start Here!, Webmaster Online Tools," etc.? Well, mouse over "Newbies Start Here" and you'll see a list of articles. Read these. These are the 'foundation' of starting as a 'Webmaster' (someone who builds/maintains a website).
3) Check out our Tutorial Section - this is an ever-growing section of tutorials and how-tos on many topics you may be confused about.
4) Want to learn a bit more about Search Engine Optimization (SEO)? Start here at our SEO Basics - learn what all the SEO terms are and what they mean.
5) Next... Bookmark our Newbie Bootcamp category of articles. These are all things you'll want to learn and most are things you'll need to learn. Bookmark them and start reading. It's updated frequently, so there'll always be something there for you to sink your teeth into.
6) ASK QUESTIONS!! Listen to me here. I don't care if you think you have the dumbest question in the world - ASK IT! This is what I DO - help webmasters - new ones and even the more experienced ones. It's what I'm good at, it's what I enjoy. So, if you're reading an article and you don't understand something, post a comment and ASK ME! Please! Your question and any subsequent answers will help other folks too. If you just can't seem to make yourself post a comment, email me: support at affiliaterugu.com (change the 'at' to @). I would really prefer that you post your question in the comments box simply because it will help someone else, and that is the point of this site - to help folks learn.
You CAN make money online. You CAN be a work at home mom or dad. You CAN supplement your retirement income. It will take time, patience and work, but you CAN do it and I will help as much as I possibly can.
