The Ups and Downs of Being a Newbie

Hiya guys. Today I’d like to talk a little bit about the ups and downs you will experience working on the web.

No matter what anyone tells you, this is NOT an easy, make it rich quick type job….. but it is just that, a JOB. When you work, sometimes you have good days, other times you have bad days. Working on the net is exactly the same, some days you will feel like you’ve done a great job, other days you will feel like a failure. The key to success is….. never quit.

Starting out can be scary, exhilarating, confusing, and educational all at the same time. It is important to try to keep a level head as you wade through the adult web as a newbie.

If you get listed well in a search engine feel good about your accomplishment!… but don’t let it get to your head…lol. Keep working! You found something that works… do it again! If you can’t for the life of you get listed at Dmoz, don’t give up! Learn from your mistake, change a thing or two, and resubmit, or ask for help! Don’t let it get you down!

Be sure that you treat this as a job, whether it be part time, or full time. Plan your day so as to include time for your work, and nothing else. As easy as this might sound, it’s not. On the flip side, make sure you don’t get so absorbed with your work that you forget you have a life too! Balance is the key here.

I know you’ve heard this before, but I really don’t give a sh**…hehehe… NETWORK! It’s the biggest, most valuable thing you can do to help your business succeed…. period.

And don’t think I don’t know what I’m talking about… I was there… not too long ago either! There are forum archives out there that have posts from me when I was a web ‘baby’ and started pumping out one question after another. It was enlightening, as well as confusing at times. I knew absolutely nothing about the web… nothing… oh, except how to find shopping sites while surfing… hehe. But with a lot of hard work, focus, and friends, the job seems a lot smaller after all.

It’s a tough job…… but somebody’s gotta do it.
