Most search engines place a lot of importance on having keywords that match search queries in your domain name.

Here’s another example: Say you are planning to sell high end car stereos. A potential domain name could be qualityautostereo.com or bestqualitycarstereos.com. If you are working locally you could try qualitycolumbusstereos.com. Don’t worry about putting dashes in between the words such as quality-auto-stereo.com. Search engines only see the words when they index your domain, anyway.

A tool that can really help you in your search is Google Trends. This handy tool will help you learn which keywords are most popular right now. Find the ones that work best in your market (ie. United States) and you can utilize that when you choose a domain name. Make it count!
